Summer Drama Holidays

The Summer Drama Activities

Improvisation - Mime - Dance - Choral Speaking - these are just some of the drama activities we cover.
It's a drama holiday
So no auditions, anyone and everyone is welcome - and we take the view that everyone has something to contribute...

A group outside A group in a dance session Dining table scene
Keen at the start... Tap your troubles away... Food, glorious food...
We have a great team of professional actors, dancers, and musicians to lead the activities - so the approach is very practical - 'don't talk about it - do it...' Yes, we do some Shakespeare - but Hamlet has been hit by a custard pie more than once!
We cover many aspects of theatre - improvisation, mime, choral speaking, working with texts, movement and dance, make-up - and the musical side is not neglected either. Indeed, if anyone has a favourite musical instrument they want to bring along, we warmly encourage them to do so, and if our resident Musical Director can get them to use them in the work we do. Look out Andrew Lloyd-Webber...
The high ratio of staff and limits to the number of bookings each week mean that attention can be individual, a family holiday atmosphere is generated, and everybody gets their moment 'centre stage'.
Parents and friends have the opportunity to see what everyone has been up to at the end of each week, when we stage a show of the work we've all done, prior to going home.
We even have our own Oscar ceremony - every year several greats are nominated but somehow they are always pipped at the post by our own stable of young stars - Keira Knightly and George Clooney were said to have been devastated last year when neither won!

Alternative diversions Custard Pies and Gags! The end of the show
A break from work... Rickets on the lawn
(Freddie Flintoff eat your heart out)
Just after the (Custard Pie!) fight scene in Hamlet (Yes, Hamlet !) We made it!

Kilmore House

Kilmore House from the airThis year the holidays are held in the stunning surroundings of the GLENS OF ANTRIM, in a lovely old house near GLENARIFF called KILMORE HOUSE and children can come for a week, week-end or even on a daily basis. Courses are residential and non-residential. The house has everything we need - plenty of room - the children sleep in dormitory accommodation entirely within the house -, a large working space, and the breathtaking surroundings of the Glens, and the immediate surounds allow lots of space for informal outdoor activity - there is even a well-worn tennis court, so Tim Henman - lookout.
